Achari Chicken

Ingredients :
Bone -in -chicken  - 1kg ,
Tomatoes -3 chopped ,
Onion -4  sliced ,
Curd or yogurt -250 gms ,
red chilli pwd -1 tsp ,
Ginger -garlic paste -2 tsp ,
Haldi or turmeric pwd - 1/2 tsp ,
green chilli - 6  ( deseeded ),
Fennel seeds -1 and 1/2 tsp ,
Mustard seeds -1 and 1/2 tsp ,
Cumin seeds -1 and 1/2 tsp ,
Onion seeds or kalonji seeds - 1 and 1/2 tsp ,
Lemon juice - half  ,
Ghee or oil - 2 tbsp ,
Salt to taste .
Method :
Heat oil in pan .Add onions and stir fry till golden brown .Add chopped tomatoes and saute till they are soft .
Add chicken pieces ,beaten curd ,ginger garlic paste ,red chilli pwd ,turmeric pwd and salt .
M ix and cover .Lower  the heat and let cook till 90 % done .Half hour ( approximate )
Dry roast the whole spices on a tawa .
Take 2 tsp of the roasted pwd and keep aside .Grind the rest of the spice to pwd .
Take out the roasted pwd in a small bowl and add 1/4 tsp of turmeric pwd and half lemon juice  and make a mix .
Slit green chilli and discard the seeds  and fill  in the roasted masala .keep the left over masala  aside .

when chicken  is 90 %  cooked open the lid and add the stuffed chillies  ,the rest of the roasted  pwd and 2 tsp of the whole roasted spices   .  Let it simmer for 5  minute . 
Taste salt .
Achari chicken is ready .
Have it with Naan or Roti !
