Fish Curry ( mustard sauce)

Ingredients :
Fish - Rahu   -1 kg ( river fish , cut into pieces )
Mustard seeds -1 tsp,
Methi seeds -1/4 tsp ,
Dried red chilli -1
Yellow mustard seeds -4 tbsp ( soaked in water overnight )or paste or pwd ,
Garlic paste -2 tsp ,
Black pepper corn -10 or pwd or 1 tsp ,
Turmeric pwd -1/2 tsp ,
Salt to taste ,
water - 400 ml ( less if you want a thick garvy ).
Fish marination ;
Garlic paste -1 tsp ,
Red chilli pwd -1/2 tsp ,
Turmeric pwd -1/2 tsp ,
lemon juice - half ,
Salt to taste .
Method :
Make a paste of mustard seeds,garlic paste and pepper corns in the blender with little water .
( if using mustard paste add  little water and make a paste ) .
Marinate the fish for 15 minutes with the above ingredients . 
Heat oil and shallow fry the fishes (lightly).Tossing both the sides.


If you like to have fish fry then   fry them a little longer  and sprinkle chaat masala on the fried fish. Add a  dash of lemon juice and enjoy fry fish with coriander chutni .


  For the mustard sauce you have to  shallow fry the fish only for a minutes . Keep them aside .
In the same oil add mustard seeds ,methi seeds and dried red chilli . Let the spices  crackle , lower the heat add the mustard, garlic and pepper paste. Raise the heat to medium and fry the masala till oil leaves side .
Dont over fry the mustard paste masala as it will taste bitter .If you are using dry mustard paste add little water to the paste .
Add water and salt when oil leaves side 
Let the sauce come to a boiling point, then add the fish .
Stir and then let it  again boil .Cover and lower the heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes .
Close the gas .
Taste the salt .Sprinkle coriander leaves .
Enjoy fish curry with rai pulao .
