Ingredients :
white beans - 150 gms -1 cup ,
Tomatoes -4 ( pureed and sieved ),
Green bell peppers -1 (chopped finely ),
Onion -1 ( chopped finely ),
Cornflour -1 and half tsp ( mix with 1/4 cup of water ),
Pepper pwd -1/2 tsp ,
Salt to taste ,
Hot and sweet ketchup -2 tbsp,
sugar -1/2 tsp,
Oil -2 tsp .
Method :
Soak the beans for 4 hours or overnight .
Boil the beans with a glass or 300 ml of water - 1 whisle in high heat and 10 minutes in low heat .
Heat pan and add oil. As oil heats up add the chopped onions.
Saute in medium heat for few seconds till they are soft . Add the chopped bell peppers and raise the heat .Stir fry for a minute .
Add the pureed tomatoes ,salt ,sugar and pepper .Let it come to a boiling point .lower the heat ,
cover and let it simmer for 2 or 3 minutes .
Raise the heat to medium and add the cooked beans with the stock .
Stir and as the beans come to boil ,add the cornflour water .
Stir and mix .The sauce will thicken and then lower the heat and let it cook for 2 or 3 minutes .
Taste and see if you need to adjust any seasoning .
Enjoy your breakfast with hot buttered toast and saucy beans !

Lobia-350 gms ( longbeans ),
Small dried red chilli-1( broken ),
Mustard seeds pwd-1 tsp,
Ginger- garlic paste -1 and 1/2 tsp,
Corriander pwd -1 tsp,
Rai pwd or mustard pwd -1 tsp,
Turmeric pwd - 1/2 tsp,
Pepper pwd -1/4 tsp,
Red chilli pwd -1/4 tsp ( optional),
Tomato puree -4 tbsp,
Salt to taste,
Oil -2 tbsp.
Cut the Lobia or longbeans into 1 and 1/2 inch size.
Method -
Heat oil in kadhai or deep pan. Put red chilli and mustard seeds in oil. Let the seeds crackle.
Lower the heat, add ginger garlic paste with little water,stir for a minute in high heat and then add turmeric pwd .Lower the heat and then add the remaining ingredients except tomato puree and salt.
Raise the heat and stir fry the masala till oil leaves side ,then add tomato puree.Stir fry till oil leaves side and the then add Lobia or longbeans and salt .
Stir fry on high heat so that the masala evenly coats the beans then pour one cup or 200 ml of water.
Let the gravy come to boil . cover with a lid and then lower the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Check if beans is tender and taste the salt.
Put the heat on high and let it dry. Close the gas and add 1 tsp lemon juice and then mix.
Can be had with Rice, Dal and paratha too !
