Puff pastry dough is available in modern bazar stores or you can make it at home too .
I have made this recipe with the modern baazar store dough but in my next blog i have posted the recipe for the dough which i made at home and made palmiers (elephant ears ) .
Ingredients :
Puff pastry dough - 1 sheet ( thawed ),
Egg -1 ,
Water -1 tbsp ,
Granulated sugar -3 tbsp .
Method :
Take out the dough from the freezer and leave for 40 minutes in room temperature .
Grease the baking tray .
Stir the egg and water in a small bowl .
Sprinkle the work surface with flour .
Unfold the pastry sheet on the floured surface .
Roll the pastry sheet into 16 X 10 inch rectangle .
Dust flour if the dough is sticky ,but not too much .
Brush the pastry with the egg mixture and then sprinkle 2 tbsp sugar .
Starting at the short side fold each side towards centre leaving 1/4 inch space in the centre .
Brush the pastry sheet with the egg mixture and sprinkle 1 tbsp of sugar.
Fold one side over one side . Make one more fold from the short side ,making a four layer rectangle .
Cut the rectangle into 6 slices ( 3/4 inch ).
Place the pastries cut side down 2 inches apart on the prepared baking tray .
brush the pastries with the egg mixture .
Pre heat the oven to 200 C or 400 F .
Bake the pastries for 12 minutes .
Cool them on wire for 10 minutes .
Papa`s recipe !
Ingredients :
Lamb or mutton -500 gms ,
Onion - 4 to 5 medium size or 400 gms ( chopped ),
Ginger garlic paste -2 tsp ,
Red chilli pwd-1 tsp ,
Turmeric pwd -1/2 tsp ,
Garam masala pwd -2 tsp ,
Whole garlic -6 ,
Ginger Julienne -2 inch ,
Curd -200 gms ( beaten )
Whole spices -
Cloves -8,
Cinnamon -2 small sticks ,
Green Cardamom -3 ,
Black cardamom - 3 ,
Dried red chillies -2 ,
Mace -2
Mustard oil- 30 ml ,
Dalda -70 ml .
Salt to taste .
Method :
Heat mustard oil in a kadhai or skillet .When oil gets heated add dalda .
As oil heats add the whole spices .Let the spices crackle ,add 100 gms of the sliced onions .
Fry till golden brown .
Add ginger garlic paste with little water and fry for few seconds .Add the powdered masalas .
Fry for 1/2 minute ,then add the mutton .
Fry for 2 minutes ,then lower the heat and add the beaten curd .
Leave it to cook for 5 minutes .
Raise the heat and add the onions ,whole garlic ,ginger julienne and salt .
Cook for 2 minutes .
Transfer the mutton in the cooker and cook in low heat for 20 minutes .
When cool , stir and mix and then serve .
Enjoy the korma with paratha or roti!

Ingredients :
white beans - 150 gms -1 cup ,
Tomatoes -4 ( pureed and sieved ),
Green bell peppers -1 (chopped finely ),
Onion -1 ( chopped finely ),
Cornflour -1 and half tsp ( mix with 1/4 cup of water ),
Pepper pwd -1/2 tsp ,
Salt to taste ,
Hot and sweet ketchup -2 tbsp,
sugar -1/2 tsp,
Oil -2 tsp .
Method :
Soak the beans for 4 hours or overnight .
Boil the beans with a glass or 300 ml of water - 1 whisle in high heat and 10 minutes in low heat .
Heat pan and add oil. As oil heats up add the chopped onions.
Saute in medium heat for few seconds till they are soft . Add the chopped bell peppers and raise the heat .Stir fry for a minute .
Add the pureed tomatoes ,salt ,sugar and pepper .Let it come to a boiling point .lower the heat ,
cover and let it simmer for 2 or 3 minutes .
Raise the heat to medium and add the cooked beans with the stock .
Stir and as the beans come to boil ,add the cornflour water .
Stir and mix .The sauce will thicken and then lower the heat and let it cook for 2 or 3 minutes .
Taste and see if you need to adjust any seasoning .
Enjoy your breakfast with hot buttered toast and saucy beans !
Ingredients :
All purpose flour or maida - 1 cup ,
Banana - 2 ( mashed ),
Butter - 1/2 cup ,
Sugar granulated -3/4 cup ( powdered ),
Salt -1/2 tsp ,
Egg -2 ( whisked ),
Butter milk -1 cup ( 1/2 cup curd mix with 1/2 cup water and then sieved ),
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp ,
Baking pwd -1 tsp ,
Walnut - 1/2 cup ( chopped ),
Vanilla essence -1 tsp.


Can use paper wraps or muffins cups .Grease them and keep aside .
Method :
Sieve flour with the baking soda and baking pwd .Mix with salt and keep aside .
Grind the sugar in the grinder .
Make the buttermilk and keep aside .
Take a bowl and beat the eggs for a minute with a mixer and take out in a separate bowl .
In the same bowl add butter and run the mixer for 1 second and then add sugar . Mix for a second then add the beaten eggs . Run the mixer for few seconds .

Add the mashed banana and mix .
Fold in the flour mix and the butter milk alternately .Mix till all the dry ingredients are moistened .
Stir in the nuts and vanilla essence .Mix for 1/2 second .
Spoon into the muffin cups ,filling upto 2/3 full .
Preheat the oven to 180 C ( 400 F) .
Bake for 18 minutes .
Serve warm .
This is for you Tutu :) made with whole crushed coriander seeds !
Ingredients :
Bhindi or Okra -300 gm ( chopped into small pieces ),
Green bell pepper -1 ( chopped into medium size chunks ),
Onion -1 medium size ( chopped small ),
Tomato -1 chopped ,
Turmeric -1/4 tsp ,
Cumin seeds -1 tsp ,
Coriander seeds -2 tsp ( slightly crushed ),run the coriander seeds in a blender for a second .
Green chilli - 1 ( chopped ),
Ginger garlic paste -1 tsp ,
Salt to taste ,
Oil -1 tsp ( for bhindi or okra )
Oil -2 tsp for curry .
Method :
Heat 1 tsp oil in kadhai or skillet .
As oil heats up ,lower the heat,and add the cut bhindis , stir once and cover for 5 minutes .
Stir twice in between the 5 minutes.
Raise the heat to medium and fry till the stickiness of the bhindi disappears ( 2 to 3 minutes ). Take out the bhindi from the kadhai and keep aside .
In the same kadhai put 2 tsp oil , lower the heat and then add cumin seeds and crushed coriander seeds .
Fry them for few seconds in low heat ( dont let it burn ),
Add chopped onions and saute in medium heat , add a pinch of salt .
Dont brown the onions , add turmeric pwd .
After few seconds add ginger garlic paste .Let it fry for a minute till the raw flavour of the garlic is gone .
Add sliced green chilli and then add the chopped tomato .
Lower the gas and cover for 2 minutes till the tomatoes are soft .
Raise the heat and add the bell peppers . stir for few seconds ,then add the cooked bhindi and some salt . Mix and then lower the heat and cover for 4 minutes .
Close the gas after 4 minutes .Uncover and add garam masala and chopped coriander leaves .
Close with the lid and let it stay for a minute in the kadhai .
Kadhai bhindi is ready !
Taste salt .
