Spring onion - 2 ( chopped ),
Ginger -1 inch ( grated ),
Bread - 2 slices ( soaked and squeezed ),
Green chilli -1 ( chopped )
Salt to taste .
Ingredients for stuffing :
Green beans - 200 gms ( chopped into small pieces ),
Carrot - 2 ( chopped into small pieces )
Spring onion -1 ( chopped ),
Onion - 1 ( small - finely chopped ),
Ginger - 1 inch ( chopped ),
Coriander pwd - 1/2 tsp ,
Salt -a pinch ,
Tomato sauce - 1 tbsp ( hot + sweet ),
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp ( chopped )
Oil -2 tbsp .
Cornflour -2 tbsp for dusting if needed .
Method :
Boil potatoes and mash and keep in a bowl .
Soak bread with water and then squeeze out the water and put in the mashed potato bowl .
Heat 1 tsp of oil in pan .As oil heats up add ginger ,after a few seconds add onion and spring onions.
Saute in high heat for few seconds .
Add green beans ,stir for 1/2 minute and then add carrots .
Stir in high heat for another 1/2 minute ,then add coriander pwd and a pinch of salt . Mix and lower the heat .Cover with a lid for 1 minute .
Open and raise the heat and then add 1 tbsp of hot sweet sauce and coriander leaves . Mix and then close the gas .
Take out the stir fried vegetable in a bowl .Leave it to cool .
Divide the potato mixture into 10 dumplings .Make round balls and then make a well in the center and fill it with the vegetable mixture.Flatten them and keep in a plate .
If the potato mixture is sticky ,use cornflour for dusting .Dust your fingers with cornflour and pat a little of the pwd when you make the patty before filling .
Fill the chop with the vegetable mixture and cover with a cling film and keep in the fridge .
When you plan to serve ,heat 2 tbsp of oil in pan .When oil heats up put the chops in the pan. Slightly brown both side in high heat .
Take out in the chops on a paper tissue .
Serve hot with chutney and a sandwitch .
Makes 10 chops .
