Onion chicken

This recipe does not involve frying and very little oil  is needed for cooking .I have made it for  the first time and the taste is really good .The only thing is chopping 6 onions but it is after all onion chicken :)
Ingredients:
Chicken- bone -in - 900 gms ,
Onion -6 or 7 medium size -cut in half rings
Curd -1 cup ( beaten ),
Green coriander leaves -1 cup ( coarse paste )
Tomatoes -2 -chopped ,
Green chilli -2 chopped ,
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp ,
Coriander pwd -1 tsp ,
Cumin pwd -1 tsp ,
Red chilli pwd -1 tsp ,
Black pepper -1 tsp ,
Garam masala -1 tsp ,
Oil or ghee -2 tsp ,
salt to taste .
Method :
Make cuts in the chicken pieces ,rub in the yogurt and the coriander paste all over .Mix in the onions and leave it to marinate for an hour in a bowl .
Transfer the marinated chicken in a non stick pan and put on heat and cover. After few minutes ,  lower the heat and let it cook  on medium for 12 minutes or till chicken is 3/4 cooked .Add oil and rest of the ingredients and let it cook for 6 minutes on low heat .
Open and check if chicken is fully cooked and then raise the heat till the chicken is well coated with the gravy .
Taste salt and sprinkle coriander leaves .
Onion chicken is ready .
Best with plain roti or paratha .
