Ingredients:
Sewain or vermicelli -100 gms ,
Sugar -100 gms ,
Milk - 200 ml ,
Full cream milk -1/2 lt ( reduced it to make khoya ),
Small cardamom -4 ,
Water -100ml,
Ghee - 3 tsp ,
Kewra -a few drops
Dry fruits of your choice .
Method :
Crush the sewain or vermicelli a little, so that it is easy to roast .
Heat pan and add ghee .Roast the dryfruits and keep aside .
In the same ghee roast the sewain for a minute in medium heat .Take out and keep aside .
The sewain should be covered and immersed in milk .Let it come to boil . ( Put a tawa under the pan if the bottom is not heavy, for dum ) Lower the heat and then cover . Let it simmer for 10 minutes till the sewain is evenly coated with the sugar syrup.
Close gas and sprinkle dry fruits and few drops of kewra water .Leave for 5 minutes to cool .
Serves 6

ReplyDelete:) by the way, Aunty, I would love it if you could post the recipe for fruit custard pudding (I think that's what it was called)! It had fruits n lots of creme!! I used to love it in college. That along with your marble cake are part of very happy n 'sweet' memories of college life :)
