Veg Chowmein *

Ingredients :
 Noodles - 300 gms  ( Hakka noodles )
Garlic paste  -1 tsp ,
Cabbage - 100 gms  ( chopped length  wise ) ,
Carrot - 2 baby size - thin strips ,
Green Capsicum - 1 - thin strips ,
Onion -1 finely sliced ,
Oil - 2 tbsp ,
Vinegar - 1 tbsp ,
 Soya sauce - 1 tbsp ( i have used light soya sauce )
pepper pwd - 1 tsp ,
salt to taste .


Method :
Boil noodles in hot water with a tsp of  salt and oil .( boiling time on your noodles packet )or till 3/4 cooked . 
Strain the water and wash the noodles under cold water . Keep aside and mix a tsp of oil so that the noodles don `t stick .
Stir fry  cabbage in high heat with a tsp of oil ,salt and pepper and keep aside .
Like wise stir fry carrot and capsicum too .


Heat oil in pan and add garlic with little water and stir fry till light pink .Add onions and saute in high heat .
Lower the heat and add the cooked noodles .Sprinkle salt ,pepper ,soya sauce ,vinegar .Mix gently with a wooden spatulla . If you like your chowmein to be darker use dark soya sauce . Add the stir fried vegetables and mix again . Close the gas  .Taste salt .
Enjoy with chilli chicken !
* You can add sauted chicken strips or omlette strips to the noodles

  1. I made this today with scallions, asparagus, carrots and eggs. When I was stir-frying the vegetables, I just piled them in one half of the pan and poured the egg in the other half of the pan and cooked the scrambled-omelette. I didn't want to take stuff in and out, takes longer and creates more things to wash. :)

    1. That`s nice :) I would have used green onions but since i made it in summer it was not available .I like omlettes too in noddles .
