Ingredients:
Boiled Potatoes -4 medium size ( 400 gms ),
Jeera or cumin seeds- 1 tsp,
Hing -a pinch (Asafoetida),
Turmeric pwd-1/2 tsp,
Roasted jeera or cumin pwd -1 tsp ( plain cumin pwd can be used ),
Roasted jeera or cumin pwd -1 tsp ( plain cumin pwd can be used ),
Red chilli pwd -1/4 tsp,
Small dried whole red chilli -1(broken into half ),
Amchoor pwd - 1 tsp,
Chaat masala -1/2 tsp ( optional ),
Oil -1 tbsp,
Salt to taste. (Can use black salt too)
Method:
Boil the potatoes and peel the skin .
Cut potatoes in chunks (an inch size ).
Heat oil in pan, put a pinch of hing or asafoetida ,let it turn pink ,then add broken whole red chilli and cumin seeds.
When the colour of cumin changes to light brown ,add the potatoes and turmeric pwd and salt.Stir fry for a minute on high heat.Then lower the heat and add the remaining ingredients one by one .
Can add chaat masala if you want it more spicy.
Stir fry the potatoes on high heat for 3to 4 minutes till it is slightly roasted .
Taste salt .
Sprinkle corriander leaves .
Sprinkle corriander leaves .
Jeera Aloo is ready!
